SUSTAINABLE LANDSCAPE
DESIGN SERVICES
Golden State Gardens works with you to create a sustainable landscape design that you will love. We are with you during the entire process- from design through installation and beyond. Our process is divided into four distinct phases.
1. Initial Design Process
2. Final Design
3. Installation Observation
4. Follow Up
Every design is client and site specific and tailored to fit your needs and lifestyle.
INITIAL DESIGN PROCESS
DESIGN CONSULTATION
The design process begins with an on site consultation identifying your likes/dislikes, wishes, site’s challenges, opportunities, resources, and recommendations as needed. Consultations are billed hourly, with most lasting one-two hours. Following the consultation, we can prepare a contract proposal, and the consultation fee will be applied to the contract proposal.
SITE ANALYSIS
Next, we will measure and analyze your site and adjacent environmental conditions to create a basemap of the existing landscape and residence. This provides the foundation for examining potential designs.
CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
Based upon all the information gathered, we will prepare two conceptual designs drawn to scale, which include proposed hardscape elements, key plants and plant pallet, general plant layout, 3D photos of layout for your understanding, and photographs of the proposed plants and hardscape elements. We will reflect on the designs and share any revisions you would like.
FINAL PLAN
Once you approve the design, we will prepare everything you need to have your vision materialized. You will receive a final hardscape plan, planting plan and corresponding plant legend, hydrozone plan, plant background information and photographs, 3D design photos, proposed landscape finishes, optional plant maintenance and care information, and optional video walkthrough of the design. You will receive final plans via print and email.
INSTALLATION OBSERVATION
To help ensure your design is accurately interpreted, we will work with contractors on your behalf by: procuring bids, meeting with reputable contractors, answering questions, making adjustments, and overseeing hardscape and plant installation.
FOLLOW UP
We will meet with you three months post installation to observe the design and answer any questions. Even when the design is installed, we are here to recommend skilled maintenance professionals and fine gardeners, so your garden will continue to thrive and look it's best.
